Why Rest & Play is More Than a Weekend Away
I’ve been where you are. Life is busy, your plate is full, and taking time away can feel selfish or impossible. But deep down, you also know you need a break — not the kind that leaves you behind on laundry, but the kind that fills your soul. That’s exactly why Rest & Play exists.
It’s Not a Conference — It’s a Pause
I’ve attended plenty of retreats and conferences over the years — and most of them were packed from sunrise to bedtime. Great speakers, great sessions, amazing content… but by the end, I needed a major nap and when I arrived home, I felt like I didn’t know where to start to implement the tools I was just taught.
When God put Rest & Play on my heart, I knew I wanted it to be different.
No color-coded schedule.
No rushing from one thing to the next.
No pressure to do anything.
Instead, we keep the schedule simple and the space open. Every hour isn’t micromanaged. Every meal isn’t timed to the minute.
Is there a schedule? Yes, of course! But, there’s the grace and freedom to listen to what your heart and body need most – no guilt or shame attached.
If you’re exhausted, sleep in.
If you’re craving connection, pour another cup of coffee and talk late into the night.
If you want quiet, take a slow beach walk and let the waves do the talking.
So many of us live in constant motion — taking care of everyone else, juggling to-do lists that never end. Rest & Play is your permission slip to step out of that rhythm for a few days and breathe again.
What Makes It Different
This retreat isn’t about filling your time — it’s about creating space.
You’ll find beautiful meals, cozy spaces, intentional workshops, and women who are kind, welcoming, and real. But you’ll also find something you might not expect: margin.
That’s the magic of it. The house, the table, the beach — they’re all simply backdrops for what God wants to do in your heart. Sometimes that looks like laughter, sometimes tears, and sometimes just a quiet moment where you feel peace for the first time in a long time.
There’s no expectation to “show up a certain way.” You don’t have to know anyone. You don’t have to be in a specific season of life. You just have to be open — and He’ll do the rest.
And I’ve seen Him do it time and time again and again. The Lord meets us right where we are — in the stillness, in the laughter, in the unhurried moments when we finally stop trying to manage every detail and just be.
The After-Effect
Here’s my favorite part: the weekend is just the beginning.
After every retreat, I hear stories from women who go home changed — not in a flashy way, but in a steady, lasting one.
They start guarding quiet time again.
They make space for creativity or prayer.
They stay connected to the new friends they met around the table.
They remember what it feels like to rest without guilt.
That’s the beauty of becoming. It’s realizing that God isn’t asking you to become someone new — He’s inviting you to remember who you already are.
If You’re Wondering If It’s for You…
If your heart is tired from carrying too much.
If you’ve been craving time to think, laugh, or just be still.
If you love the idea of gathering with women who want to live more intentionally —
Then yes, Rest & Play might be exactly what you need.
You’ll have a beautiful home by the beach, delicious food, thoughtful touches from small businesses I love, and space — glorious space — to rest, reflect, and reconnect with the Lord and yourself.
And I’ll be right there too — hosting, laughing, praying, and watching as God does what only He can do: meet each of us exactly where we are.
